How to market on Facebook the right way. This is the most important topic of this series and so many marketers are doing this wrong on Facebook and other social media web sites. Don’t be that guy or gal who spams people! This is getting bad on the internet. People are so pitchy right when they meet someone. I’m sorry to say that’s very spam like and people hate it on social media.
People on Facebook Don’t care about your Business Opportunity!
People go on Facebook to socialize with people, not to do business. This is a fact and there is no getting around it. So I bet you are asking yourself . How and why would I market on Facebook if they don’t care about my business? This is the fun part!
This is what we call attraction marketing. If you have been marketing online for a little bit I’m guessing you have heard of this. If you are brand new don’t sweat it. I learned this concept from one of the best marketers in the world, Mike Dillard. He created a course that teaches you attraction marketing. If you want to pick up a copy of his course head over to Magnetic Sponsoring. If you have already read it, great you are ahead of the game. If you haven’t you really should go order it and learn as much as you can.
I will be talking a lot about attraction marketing and how to use it to break the ice with people and really help you drive your conversions up in this series.
Getting started on Facebook
Should I have a Fan Page or a User Profile? This is the question you might be asking yourself or you have no idea what the differences is between them. So that’s what we are going to cover really fast; the differences between a Fan Page and a User Profile.
- This is The Big One Fan Pages don’t have a limit of how many people can follow you. User Profiles as of right now have a 5000 person limit on them. This limit has been talked about and Facebook could get rid of it but, as of right now its at 5000.
- Joining Groups- a user profile can join and create a group. Fan Pages can not join groups so this could be harder to find targeted traffic. If you plan on having a group go with a user profile.
- Fan Pages are visible to everyone. User Profiles you can set up to be seen by everyone or you can have it so people have to request to be your friend to see your profile.
There is many differences between Fan Pages and user profiles, these are only a few. Facebook has been changing very rapidly as of late and the way it looks like, there will soon be no differences between the two. The two big things to keep in mind are the unlimited amount of followers you can have with a fan page. The second is having your own group with a profile. I use my group as a way to get targeted traffic so that’s why I have a user profile. I’m getting close to 5000 followers and when I get there I’m hoping Facebook will have raised the limit. Only time will tell on that. The choice is yours and yes you can have both.
To Use Your Personal Facebook With Your Business Facebook?
Some people combine their business and personal Facebook. I personally do not. I have a Facebook just for my business and I have found its easier. I have a lot of friends and family I talk to on Facebook and I think it would be to hard to track everyone on one profile. When your numbers of followers really start to grow it would be hard to see family post because they go by so fast. Also if you don’t like to share a lot of your personal information with your business contacts, two accounts is for you. The choice is yours, just decide before you grow your business contacts into the thousands.
The Next post in this is Marketing Series is setting up a profile.
